Post image for 6 Reasons Why You Should Guest Post

Before mentioning the reasons of why you should be guest posting on other blogs, I would like to define what a Guest Post is to those who don’t what it is.

A Guest Post is when you have an article written and it is posted on someone else’s blog, usually the blog is of the same niche as yours. Each blogger sets a list of requirements for writing a guest post, but mainly all bloggers share this requirement, which is not to have the article published anywhere else, not even on the author’s blog.

1- Reach new audiences

When you have your article published on another blog, you will be showing the readers your knowledge and your areas of experience and you will be attracting them to come onto your blog and check the rest of your content. Always try to choose blogs that come under the same niche of your blog so you can increase the efficiency of your target.

2- Potential new subscribers

If your article was enough to grab the attention of the readers and they liked it, they could be easily converted into RSS subscribers on your blog. That’s why I believe that you should be putting extra effort and more focus when writing a guest post than when writing a regular post for your own blog.

3- Promoting your blog and yourself

With each guest post, the host blog adds a mini-biography either to the beginning or to the end of your article to tell the readers more about you. That will give the readers slight insight about you and your blog.

4- Link back to your blog

Within the Bio mentioned above, the host blog will also add a hyperlink to your blog or other site you choose. A link back to your blog is an extremely excellent thing to have, especially at your very early stages. The cool thing about it is, if the host blog was with a high Google Page Rank, you will be getting a backlink from a preferred site by Google, so you will be getting higher priority than before.

5- Increase your Twitter followers

Everybody on Twitter has the dream of having thousands and thousands of followers and yes, Guest Posts help you increase your followers. Also within the Bio mentioned above, the host blog will usually link your Name to your Twitter profile.

6- Help other bloggers

After all these benefits you are getting from guest posting, I think you wouldn’t mind benefiting the person behind the blog publishing your post. By sending them a guest post, you are giving them a break from writing and in return you are getting benefits worth of $$$.

I will be posting another article soon about how to write a killer guest post, and how to choose host blogs and much more.

Is there any benefit in guest posting that I missed? Please share your opinion and let me know.

It’s such a great benefit for both parties isn’t it. If you need a break from writing you can get someone to guest blog for you and if your blog is going well they’ll be more than happy for it as it means they’ll reach out to new potential readers and all the other things you mentioned.

Guest blogging is something I really want to get into next month as I haven’t started that yet. Closest thing has been the interviews but I haven’t got my content out there in other blogs yet. Soon ;)

I didn’t know you have a new blog. Why didn’t you tell me? LOL. Anyway, informative blog and cool posts. I’ve subscribed to it.

By the way, nice reasons to guest post. I guess I should be doing more of guest posting.

In fact, I found your blog via your guest post on Twitip. (Another reason to guest post. LOL).

One of the most useful benefit of Guest posting is building relation ship with the owner of the blog.
Which in return will give you more benefits in long term.(He may link to your article)
